Better outcomes for participants in “Managing Diabetes During Ramadan Conversation Map” community program

A recent study by the Clalit Research Institute, published in the International Journal of Nursing Studies, showed that among Muslim patients with type 2 diabetes who fast during the month of Ramadan, participation in the “Managing Diabetes During Ramadan Conversation Map” community program improved glucose and HbA1c outcomes, along with lower healthcare utilization. These findings are important worldwide for the millions of patients with diabetes for whom Ramadan may pose a challenge in disease control.
